Taiwan lots of things um so I travel a. lot and I've got like all these heart. pins everywhere and so I'm looking up uh. the places that I remember that I liked. and right places were permanently closed. just the landscape changed a little bit. but right so it's like I'm rediscovering.
Taiwan and I got a chance to visit. kaushung for the first time as well. sorry. yeah sorry yeah do you speak Mandarin no. no. what do you do for a living because I. see all these gadgets that you have with. you yeah. time travel streamer on Twitch just. sharing my lifestyle as a traveler right. Taiwanese are the nicest Chinese people. in the world. my name is Michael where are you from. from Canada how long have you been here. in Taiwan a few days now just a few days. just a few days we're just coming to. visit for a few days just vacation I. used to play basketball here a long time. ago so I was just coming back and came. with a few buddies it's good to be back. so have you ever been here before uh. this is my first time how do you like it. here so far I've been really enjoying it. I feel like it's super cool my favorite.
part has been the food definitely really. what do you like oh just rice I don't. know why but it's my mostly even if it's. just plain rice it's my favorite thing. ever I love it interesting is there any. food that you can't stand I'm sadly not. a fan of seafood. I I wish I liked it is there any other. cities that we were just in Taichung. yeah so you just arrived today in Taipei. yes just today in Taipei which city do. you like better. I like Taipei so how do you like it here. so far it's great we really like it I.
love the public transportation so the. Subways are so clean right the buses are. really easy to get around and then the. people are so friendly so they're very. social and so they make eye contact and. talk to you and the little kids like. wave they're very social we don't get. that a lot a lot of people think that. Tony's are really shy oh this is. actually a good way shy like in a cute. way right it's like don't make any eye. contact yeah right so it's kind of fun. to have people like look at you and. smile and you know you know this is nice.
I'm glad you enjoyed it so far so where. have you been we were in uh Taichung for. a few days we went to Sun Moon Lake and. then some of the night markets and did. you even get there so without a car we. walked a lot yeah and then we took oh a. city bus to the Sun Moon Lake yeah we. took a city bus okay is there any food. that you like or something that so I. love all of the pot stickers in any form. they're delicious and then any of the um. the dumplings are really good and I.
actually used to live in Hong Kong. Singapore when I was a kid so I'm. looking forward to steam dumpling so. with the soup in them uh. [Music]. my leaders. I like a beautiful nature yeah. [Music].
[Music]. um. [Music]. [Music].
it's a good balance so how do you like. it here so far yeah it's been pretty. good yeah like like first three years. it's maybe due to the kovid we cannot go. out much right but now yeah we're. starting to go out more is fun what do. you usually do here on the weekend yeah. like now we came for some street. photography and everything what is our. favorite thing about Taiwan my favorite. thing about Taiwan I find this place has.
such a diverse energy I don't know how. to explain it it's it's a it's a Vibe. like for example Taipei it has the. perfect mixture of like the modern and. like the hip scene with the the culture. enmesh it's like a beautiful Melting Pot. and the the geography of the country is. so gorgeous the mount the rolling. mountains The Greenery the adventure. it's perfect for the outdoorsy types did. you go hike yeah I I did I tried them in. yeah where have you been I didn't have.
much time this time right I actually. yesterday I was up on uh Mountain. yeah I did that I had a chance to do a. little bit of that with the with the. weather it was a bit harder in the area. yesterday was cloudy it was so cold I. know right how do you like it so far. after how many years has it been it's. been almost 20 years since I've been. back and I can't believe how modern and. as much the city is growing I actually. don't even really remember it now when. I've seen it like this so it's quite.
different but it's great it's clean and. safe and super fun what's your favorite. thing so far just the people are really. sincere really sweet and uh I feel. really safe here I've been in Brazil. this year I've been in Colombia I was in. Thailand and came here and this feels. like like it could be home it's easy I. think why I feel like because I will. like I actually got a haircut here for. like because my hair's got a lot and I. went in there and I didn't catch it. early but then when I was doing my. haircut and I was just like oh can I. wash your hair please thank you gotta.
help lift your back home please thank. you like it finishes with like a please. and thank you I was like Wow and like. the taxi drivers I could really see are. very friendly that's something really. sweet to hear from Canadian who is. considered always super nice and you're. telling us. everything's clean here the weather's a. little cold yesterday but generally good. so I definitely come back I'm glad you. enjoy it. is there um one thing oh you can't stand.
about Taiwan. uh the motorbikes terrify me a little. bit yes I've heard rumors about getting. hit about the hit by them and I'm like. oh no can you say um. yes that's a really good pronunciation. can you look at the camera and tell them. Taiwan. Taiwan. there you go that's really good is there. anything about Taiwan that you can't. stand. um I just feel bad I can't speak the. language so I I would say that's.
taiwan's fault that's my own fault I. feel mad when I ask someone a question. and they don't know what I'm saying and. that always makes you feel I just feel. bad so Google translate only goes so far. so okay. foreign.
Yota. [Music].
what Fashions.
a little bit more. not as strict as Taipei all right it is. true tell us one thing that you know. you really anything there that I can't. stand for real I mean at least now I. cannot think of anything that I cannot. stand about anything about Iowa.
I've been through some struggling at the. very first maybe a few months but after. that it's it's it's okay what exactly. are the struggles the most of the foods. here it's like very like you know. compared to the Indian like flavorful so. yeah I think I miss those flavors and. everything but ah but yeah like over the. time I I get used to it so Tony's food. is too plain for you yes okay that. doesn't sound too bad I thought you.
would judge or a about our traffic. or people is there anything that you. can't stand about Taiwan anything. traffic people food uh there was just a. British guy told me that he really can't. stand stinky tofu oh my God I love. stinky tofu really I I made an I made an. effort to get to have stinky tofu today. it was my last day I was like did you. have it I did it was the first thing I. did this morning do like the fried one. where the steam one so I ate a lot of.
the fried fries and this time around I. branched out and I and I went to the. um house uh a house of stink it's quite. close by it's a restaurant they serve. all stinky tofu like steamed in the soup. the raw extra stinky so I tried like a. variety of it on the menu right the. place called House of Sting House of. stink yeah I don't even know this place. we should go check it out yeah I'll give. you this here thank you okay so yeah you.
haven't told me what is one thing that. you can't stand here um nothing that. really comes to mind. yeah really really. um no I not really I mean so much I feel. like I have this maybe it's my tolerance. like right like you were giving examples. of like traffic or something like I just. came from India for example like nothing. will faze me anymore right so the. traffic doesn't seem so crazy to you. yeah right right so after traveling to.
so many different countries what would. you consider it as your favorite country. so far or what is the most memorable. place oh that is like the hardest. question. um I I do have like my top list I guess. um. Thailand Nepal I love Thailand yeah. taiwan's on the list as well oh you. don't need to try to be nice it's okay. and Google and you're up like I would. say Portugal and Hungary but yeah that's. about it how many countries have you. been so far.
um like 30 something yeah. 27 ish I don't know I lost count in the. high 20s 30s yeah and Counting yeah. definitely is there anything that you. can stand about Taiwan no for real. nothing food like there are some people. telling me they can't stand stinky tofu. the durian oh that's the same in. Thailand Okay but yeah. everything else is awesome through uh.
traffic you don't think the scooters are. crazy no I've traveled in a lot worse. places than here this is this is nice. this is good is there anything that you. can't stand about Taiwan. [Music].
thank you. [Music].
