I’m heading to Taoyuan Airport now. Because I’m going on a two-week business trip to Chengdu.

Thank you, Mom, for driving me to the airport. Getting ready to check in my luggage🧳. Heading to Chengdu. I’ve arrived in Chengdu! This time, I’m staying at the Chengdu Marriott Hotel. I live on the 26th floor. I’ll be staying here for 11 nights. So I'll give everyone a simple room tour! As you enter, there’s a full-length mirror here. There is a huge closet behind. The closet has a safe inside.

The other side of the closet is for you to hang clothes. Then it’s the bathroom. I like the design of the bathroom. Shower place. The bathtub allows you to see directly into the room. Here’s the coffee capsule machine. And here are the coffee capsules. This is the passion fruit lemon drink I just bought🍋. Below, there’s a mini-fridge. Next is my bed, a twin room. So, I might use the other bed to put some of my stuff. There's also a sofa. And a full-length mirror.

I heard there are many nice cafes here☕️. Having coffee outdoors when the weather is nice. It'll will feel like being on a European street. This is the cafe I will go later. I thought of arriving early to explore the area.

But it seems like many shops open at 11 or in the afternoon. They open at 11:00 and it’s 11:07 now. I asked if they were open today. They said maybe in 10 minutes. So, they let me sit inside and wait. This is the cafe I chose. They have many outdoor seats. Let me show you the indoors around. This is my outfit for today. The indoor seating is quite small.

But the overall environment feels nice. I might sit outside. I ordered a pistachio-flavored one. Here it is! I’ll try it and see how it tastes. It looks quite special. It’s quite tasty. It feels like custard with pistachio. It a new taste to me. The bread is also covered with pistachios.

This one also seems quite popular. I’m about to take a taxi to Kuanzhai Xiangzi Alleys.

The first thing I’ll do there is to try some snacks. But I saw on Xiaohongshu that. Chengdu locals advise. against eating or buying snacks and souvenirs in Kuanzhai Xiangzi. Because the prices are higher and less authentic. They recommend going to a nearby street called Kuixinglou Street. I’ll go there first to buy some snacks. My car will arrive in 2 minutes. On the Way to Kuanzhai Xiangzi Alleys.

I’ve arrived at Kuanzhai Xiangzi Alleys. It consists of three alleys: Narrow Alley, Wide Alley, and Well Alley. But I’m heading to Kuixinglou Street first. I’m not sure what this is. So, you find your surname and make it into a bracelet. After walking for more than 10 minutes, I’ve finally arrived at Kuixinglou Street. The first thing I’ll try is Tangyou Guozi (Sugar Oil Rice Cake/Mochi). Tangyou Guozi is also a must-try snack in Chengdu. It’s made from glutinous rice, sugar, and sesame seeds.

Oh, I see it! Authentic Tangyou Guozi should be crispy outside and sticky inside. Let’s give it a try. Here, a stick costs 5 yuan. In Kuanzhai Xiangzi, a stick costs about 10 yuan. I bought a stick. Now, I’m going to try Tangyou Guozi. It’s really crispy outside and sticky inside. It tastes a bit like the sweet potato balls we had as kids. The flavor is quite similar. It’s pretty good. Another must-try here is Bobo Chicken. One yuan per skewer. You have to buy at least 10 skewers. Okay, then 10 skewers. It’s so hot now~ I’m going to try it now. This one is a quail egg. It’s also a must-try snack in Chengdu. It’s made by adding flour to egg liquid and frying it into a round shape, then folding it. The line is already quite long. I’m going to join the queue. I ordered the condensed milk flavor. It has to be packed in a plastic bag, or it’ll leak everywhere. Let’s try my Chengdu pancake. It feels really hot. It tastes a bit like an egg cake in Taiwan. The condensed milk really oozes out everywhere.

There's also shop selling panda knitted bags. I bought five bags. So adorable. I’m walking back to Kuanzhai Xiangzi. The shops here in Kuanzhai Xiangzi look very ancient and quaint. I’m now in the Well Alley of Kuanzhai Xiangzi. I’m heading to a very unique cafe. I saw these two girls wearing traditional clothes on the way! So pretty! They said these are Miao costumes. Yes, Miao costumes. This is the cafe I’m going to. It’s too hot outside, so I ordered a lemon soda.

So lucky to find a seat! I was originally planning to get ice cream. But it’s so hot outside (ice cream might make me even thirstier). And I forgot to bring my hair clip. My drink has arrived. I’m sitting right in front of the main door. Next to the Longmen Tea House, there’s a popular store that sells panda products. People say if you want to buy souvenirs, this is the place. This one is so cute, holding a small flower🌼.

I bought two astronaut panda keychains. And three cute panda charms🐼. I want to keep this one for myself. The mushroom on the back is blue. So cute😍. The other one I bought has a red mushroom on the back🍄. I just left Kuanzhai Xiangzi. I’m walking to Renmin Park. The park is just nearby. There’s a famous tea house called Heming Teahouse. It’s quite unique and famous. But it’s usually crowded on weekends.

The architecture here looks very ancient and quaint too. There're a lot of small stores and stores that are selling tea. The building in front is so pretty. There are so many people here as well. Tasted some duck meat. It’s pretty good😋.

The Jinli promenade is one of the oldest and most commercial streets in Western Shu history. Many people who come to Chengdu get their ears cleaned👂🏻. The whole street is filled with snacks. I just want to find a restaurant to sit and rest. But I don’t know why none of the menus appeal to me (maybe because it’s too hot🥵). I ordered a bamboo milk tea🐼🧋.

I’ve arrived at Taikoo Li.

In addition to luxury brands, there are many places to eat. I saw something nearby. There are many people but I don’t know what it is. So I asked a security guard. and he said it’s a Louis Vuitton restaurant. This Loewe store looks so ancient and quaint. So special. Walking around Taikoo Li feels like walking around Mitsui or Gloria outlets in Taiwan. But it’s mainly all luxury brands.

Daci Temple is located inside Taikoo Li. The temple is very large. There are many panda embroidery works. Inside the temple, there’s a place for tea. And there are Sichuan face-changing performances. So I ordered the cheapest tea and have a seat inside.
